Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert an hourly rate to an annual salary?
Enter your hourly rate and the converter multiplies it by your hours per week to get weekly pay, then by your weeks per year to get the annual salary. At the defaults of 40 hours and 52 weeks, 25 per hour becomes 52,000 per year.
Is this gross or net (after-tax) pay?
Gross only β all amounts are before taxes and deductions. Tax rates vary enormously by country, state, and personal situation, so any built-in tax estimate would be a false promise. Use a tax calculator for your jurisdiction to estimate net pay from the gross figures here.
How is the daily rate calculated?
A work day is assumed to be one fifth of your work week, so the daily rate equals your weekly pay divided by 5. At 40 hours per week that means an 8-hour day.
How is the monthly figure calculated?
Monthly pay is the annual salary divided by 12 β an average across the year, not tied to the actual number of work days in any specific month.
Which currency does the converter use?
It is currency-agnostic: the math is identical for dollars, euros, yen, or anything else. Type an optional symbol (like $ or β¬) if you want it displayed next to the amounts.
