How to Use

1
### Pick a Difficulty Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard. Each level has its own fixed passage, so results are comparable between runs.
2
### Start the 60-Second Run Press Start — or simply begin typing — and the timer starts. Type the passage into the input box as fast and accurately as you can.
3
### Watch the Live Feedback Every character lights up green when correct and red when wrong, while your live WPM and accuracy update as you type.
4
### Read Your Final Stats When time runs out — or you finish the passage early — you get your final WPM, accuracy, correct characters, and error count. Hit Try Again for another run.

Features

### Standard WPM Scoring English passages use the classic chars-divided-by-5 WPM formula, so your score matches what other typing tests report.
### Three Fixed Passages Easy, Medium, and Hard passages never change, which makes your scores reproducible and comparable over time.
### Per-Character Feedback Correct characters turn green, mistakes turn red and underlined — you see exactly where your fingers slipped.
### Live Stats WPM and accuracy update on every keystroke, with a visible 60-second countdown.
### Nothing Stored No accounts, no cookies, no localStorage — your results live only on the screen in front of you.

Use Cases

📈
### Track Your Progress Run the same fixed passage daily and watch your WPM climb as your muscle memory improves.
💼
### Prepare for Job Tests Many clerical and support roles test typing speed — practice under the same 60-second pressure.
🏫
### Classroom Warm-Ups A quick, free warm-up for keyboarding lessons — no sign-ups, no data collection.
🎯
### Accuracy Training Chasing 100% accuracy on the Hard passage is a harder — and more useful — workout than raw speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is my typing speed calculated?

English uses the standard WPM formula: every 5 correctly typed characters count as one word, divided by the elapsed minutes. For example, 250 correct characters in 60 seconds equals 50 WPM. Only correct characters count — mistakes slow your score.

How is accuracy calculated?

Accuracy is the share of typed characters that match the passage, as a percentage. Characters typed past the end of the passage count as errors. If you haven't typed anything yet, accuracy starts at 100%.

What do the difficulty levels change?

Each level uses a different fixed passage. Easy is short, common words; Medium adds longer sentences and more punctuation; Hard mixes in numbers, quotes, and semicolons. The passages are fixed, so your scores stay comparable across runs.

Are my results saved or shared?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is written to storage or sent anywhere. There is no history and no leaderboard — each run stands alone and disappears when you leave the page.
